It is about proportions, about bright and dark surfaces, about obviously disparate weighing bodies or shapes which suggest to a certain point spatiality. The abstract surfaces are the origin. Out of geometric, sharp-edged flats arising apparently volumes or masses. These can evoke associations about tunnels, an abyss, a hollow space, or the opposite – absolutely hermetic conditions, for example walls or closed containers within or behind something is hiding.
