Blazej Marczak admitted to be interested in showing exactly what he saw and felt through these photographs. It is during this time that he slowly discovered his own visual aesthetic. The trip has made him aware what direction he should pursue with his photography, while also revealing a visual language the artist tried to communicate with the viewers. The trip thus became an intuitive quest and an often unconscious process that helped the artist reach a personal expression. The abundance of places and situations proved to be not only visually appealing, but also culturally challenging, with only external layers yet discovered. Throughout the work, the photographer was also influenced in the learning process by a reflection of his own cultural background, imposing a calm and observatory attitude towards the image. This has helped the photographer to filter some of the distinctive features this region of the world shows, while also allowing him to reach for a suitable photographic metaphor that expresses the various situations he encountered throughout his travels.
